SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. Leavitt's 1st book is a collection of 9 short stories. Very mild fading to the spine panel and some light discoloration to the back panel of the dustjacket which seems to be common to this title. Fine/near fine. Also included is a copy o "While England Sleeps". THIS COPY IS INSCRIBED, SIGNED AND DATED BY DAVID LEAVITT. This is the first edition 2nd printing of Leavitt's controversial novel about a love affair between two young men set against 1930's Europe & the rise of Fascism. The author Stephen Spender threatened a lawsuit againt Leavitt & his publisher claiming that Leavitt plagiarized his 1951 autobiography "World Within World" and supposedly all available copies of the book were pulled from stores & destroyed, but according to some sources this has been proven to be somewhat exaggerated. Leavitt did revise the novel in 1995 with a new preface & it was reissued in paper. Published by Viking Press in 1993. Boards and Cloth. This is a fine copy in a near fine dustjacket. Sold as a collection only. .
