1 Siegel, Eli A Rosary of Evil
New York Eli Siegel 1964 First Edition Small Paper
Very uncommon 31pg. pamphlet A Rosary Of Evil that was the "opening lecture at the meeting of the time enough poetry club" by Eli Siegel who was the founder and some would say cult leader of Aesthietic Realism "a philosophic way of seeing conflict in self and making this conflict clear to a person so that a person becomes more integrated and happier". The basis of Aesthetic Realism is the principle, "The world, art, and self explain each other: each is the aesthetic oneness of opposites". Aesthetic Realism was controversial for their negative ideas on homosexuality and followers of Aesthetic Realism took to wearing buttons stating that they were victims of the press because of all the negative press that was written about the group. They ran a theatre group and an art gallery and in 1978 because of illness Siegel took his own life. Siegel was also an educator and a poet. The lecture published here was one Siegel gave on poetry. Light wear. Vg.
