LAID IN THE BOOK IS A SIGNED CARD BY JAMES NAUGHTON THE ACTOR WHO DIRECTED THE REVIVAL. ALSO LAID IN IS A FOLDED HANDBILL. Miller's play about the meeting of two troubled brothers. A tiny tear and minute chipping to the top edge of the dustjacket, and very minute chipping to the top and bottom of the spine panel of the dustjacket. Fine/near fine.

Laid in is a small folded handbill, along with a small color candid photo of Miller and Dennehy at the Tony Awards holding their Tonys. Fine/fine. Laid in is a fold over illustrated brochure for the most recent revival of "A View From The Bridge" from 2015 and also included is a nice foldover poster for a lit film festival held at the brooklyn public library in fe. 2018. When fully opened there is a nice stylized portrait in red of arthur miller. sold as a collection only Please not that some of the "extras" might not still be available.

SIGNED BY LIZA MINNELLI AND BARRY NELSON ON THE FRONT COVER. ALSO INCLUDED IS A SMALL CHRISTMAS GIFT CARD THAT IS INSCRIBED "MERRY CHRISTMAS LOVE, LIZA. AND AN ORIGINAL 8" X 10" CANDID VERY NICE STILL OF MINNELLI ON THE SET OF THE STERILE CUCKOO WITH HER THEN HUSBAND PETER ALLEN. The act was the ill-fated musical that was directed by Martin Scorsese of all people who did not have a very good time of it. "I was doing a stage play-the only one I'll ever do, I think-called The Act, with Liza Minnelli, and I was having a very very bad time." The show had music & lyrics by Kander & Ebb but only ran for a meager 233 performances but still managed to get 6 Tony nominations including a win for Ms. Minnelli. Liza has signed it "Love Liza" with a little smiley face. Split to the bottom edge of the program's cover and a tiny tear to the bottom edge otherwise fine. A nice small unusual group of Liza Minnelli items. Sold as a collection only.

Hansberry was married for a short time to Robert Nemiroff because soon after Hansberry began coming to terms with her lesbianism, a fact that was well hidden until it was brought to light in the 1980s by gay scholars. LIMITED SIGNED EDITION OF 750 OF WHICH THIS IS NO. 161. SIGNED BY EUGENE O'NEILL. Handsome edition of O'Neill's play. Published in blue vellum boards and beautifully printed with the dialogue in two colors, black and blue. In its original spider like web embossed slipcase which has some chipping to the edges and a small piece missing from the bottom edge. The book has fading to the spine panel which is usual with this title and light fading and some mottling to the covers which also seems to be usual with this book. All in all a near fine copy in a vg. slipcase. Laid in are 7 playbills for various O'Neill productions through the years. A few have light wear.

This handbill is from the two week engagement at the Hollis St. Theatre in Boston. Very nice three color art deco design on the cover, the insides includes blurbs from New York critics and 3 small b&w photos. The back has a short bio with artwork portrait of O'Neill on the back. Slight irregular folding of the handbilll otherwise fine.

The book has beautiful decorative paper covered boards and is lacking the slipcase. Some chipping to the spine of the dustjacket which also has some darkening. Fine/near fine.

Nice small 20pg. program for the play "Topaze" that was based on the novel by Marcel Pagnol and starred the beloved character actor Frank Morgan as Topaze. The play ran for 215 performances. Morgan of course starred in many many films and is probably best known as the wizard in the Judy Garland classic "The Wizard Of Oz and he appeared in films from 1916 up to 1950. Nice art cover. Light foxing to a few pages and slight rust from the staples. Vg.

No doubt the lack of recorded material of their great performances has led to the lack of attention paid. Illustrated. Light wear to the book and dustjacket, price clipped. Vg/vg. Laid in with the book are two marvelous large souvenir programs from the beginning and the end of their careers. The first program is a 20pg. one for "Idiot's Delight. Ilustrated with beautiful art deco artwork in yellow, green, black and red on the cover, and some nice Deco touches inside. Very minute corner crease. Vg. The other program is a 16pg. b&w program for the last play that they did "The Visit." This is from the National Tour that they did in 1959-1960 to great acclaim. Ilustrated with photos , Also laid in is the playbill for the play and a small handbill. Also included is a first printing of "The Pirate" the play by S.N. Behrman that starred the Lunts. The play was later made into an unsucessful movie musical with Gene Kelly and Judy Garland. Illustrated with 3 photos from the play. The dustjacket has wear, chipping, bottom right corner of the back panel missing a piece and the spine panel also has pieces missing. Vg/good. Sold as a collection only.
