Uncommon 44pg. gallery catalog for an exhibition of paintings by the late painter Willliam Schwedler who died of AIDS in 1983. Illustrated with 47 repros. of his complicated abstract paintings along with bio material. Laid in the catalog are bio. and publicity material from a memorial exhibition that was held at the Tibor De Nagy Gallery a short time after his untimely death. The catalog is also notable for having the foreword written by the notorious Andrew Crispo who was part of a ghastly gay s&m murder case that shook the New York art world to its foundations but Crispo was not charged in the case. He was later sentenced to prison for tax evasion. Light wear to the covers, otherwise a very good copy. Also included is a large oblong16pg. catalog from a 1976 exhibition of his work that was held at the Alessandra Gallery in New York City. Includes a short essay by Diane Kelder. Light wear to the covers. Sold as a collection only.
