Nice edition of the famous Oscar Wilde play with 16 well printed illustrations by the great illustrator Aubrey Beardsley. This edition is not dated but most likely from 1950. Minute wear, chipping and some soiling to the dustjacket. Fine/vg+

Beautiful edition in red cloth boards with gilt lettering along spine and fornt cover, ornate gilt floral design on front cover. Illustrated with 16 full-page b&w illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley. Includes the suppressed title page. Date in roman numerals on title page: 1920. Includes two casting lists, one for the operatic version by Richard Strauss, and one for the performance in England for the first time.. There is light fading to the spine panel, the front cover is lovely and bright. Small stain to theedge of the spine panel, a spot or two on the back panel, light overall wear the insides are nice with a few spots of foxing. Former owner's signature on the title page and there is a small inscription on the front pastedown. The overall condition of this scarce edition is vg+.
