Terrific book documenting the life and times of the famous mysterious avenger "The Shadow" as he appeared in books, radio programs and movies. Compiled by his chief creator Walter B. Gibson the book is loaded with great features including how he was written, a complete list of Shadow titles, illustrations from early novels, repros of over 48 Shadow covers including 25 in color, a complete short novel never before published, complete chron. of Shadow radio broadcasts along with the complete script of the first Shadow broadcast, comic strips, movie stills and memorbilia and more. Illustrated with 100's of drawings, photos and illustrations. A few tiny teeny spots on the front edge of the book otherwise near fine. Also included is a rare original 11" x 14" color lobby card for the B movie "The Shadow Strikes." Released by Grand National Pictures in 1937 the movie starred Rod LaRocqu as Lamont Cranston, "The Shadow." LaRocque is not pictured. Scene on card is of characters discovering a dead man. Colorful. Small tear to top margin. Chip. to corn. Vg. Sold as a collection only.
