1 Shevelove, Burt,& Gelbart, Larry, Book By Sondheim, Stephen, Music & Lyrics By A Funny Thing Happened On the way to the Forum
New York Dodd Mead & Co. 1963 1st Edition Cloth with Dustjacket
INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM IN 1998. A very nice fine copy of the Tony Award winning musical that starred the great Zero Mostel as a Roman slave trying to win his freedom. The original production ran for 964 performances and was later filmed with Mostel in the lead along with Jack Gilford and the great Buster Keaton. Illustrated with 8pgs. of photos along with a 2pg. drawing of the cast by Hirschfeld. This was an early Sondheim show. The bright red dustjacket is fine except for sun fading to the spine panel, which is probably a common defect.
