1 Dmytryk, Edward & Dmytryk, Jean Porter On Screen Acting.
Boston Focal Press 1984 0240517393 / 9780240517391 3rd Printing Paper
Part of a series of books by the director on the craft of filmmaking. This one on acting was co-written with his wife the marvelous Jean Porter who was a delight in any film she appeared in during the 30's & 40's. Unfortunately Dmytryk made his last good film in 1953 with "The Caine Mutiny" and although he made films till 1975 they were mostly duds, with the possible exception of his camp trilogy "Walk On The Wild Side" "The Carpetbaggers &" Where Love Has Gone". Includes interview, filmogs. and 13 photos. Fine. LAID IN THE BOOK IS A TYPED AND SIGNED LETTER FROM EDWARD DMYTRYK ON TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX STATIONARY DATED JUNE 6, 1958 TO A SCREENWRITER THANKING HIM FOR LETTING HIM READ HIS SCRIPT, BUT TURNING IT DOWN AS A FUTURE FILM PROJECT. SIGNED EDDIE DMYTRYK.
