McClurg & Co. 1917 Revised Edition Small Cloth Without Dustjacket Rare early book on writing for the movies by the famous and notorious gossip columnist written early in her career when she was the editorial chair of the Essanay Film Company. Includes a glossary of the photoplay, and chapters on the scenario, the tools of the trade, the title, the synopisis, continuity, plaziarizing, the plot and more. Illustrated with 24 nice photo portraits of some of the leading stars of the day including Fatty Arbuckle, Theda Bara, William S. Hart, Chaplin, Mabel Normand and many others. There is a bookplate on the front pastedown, and the book is lacking its' front endsheet. This is an ex-library copy from The Lincoln Center Library's Research Library but has no markings on it except a small number stamp on the title pg. and a small duplicate stamp on the top of the back pastedown. There is also a small bookseller label and a small white envelope from Goldwyn Pictures in New York pasted on the back pastedown. Very minute wear to the cloth mostly to the top and bottom edges of the spine panel. Vg. Price:
