Animals in Art Stamps
2 Animals in Art Stamps
New York City New York Zoological Park 1932 1932 Edition Illus. Bds No Dj as Issued
Charming book of animal stamps with descriptions that are all here except one. The book has a nice bold drawing of a tiger on the cover which has light wear, some soiling, the pages themselves are vg. There have been several editions of this book by the Zoological Park which was later changed to The Bronx Zoo. Remains of a stamp on the inside of the back board. Considering the age and that it obviously once belonged to a child the book is in vg presentable condition. A rare find.

Boston Little Brown & Co. 1997 0821223755 / 9780821223758 First Edition Oversize cloth with Dustjacket
A fine unread copy in a fine dustjacket of a large book on the great photographer who took great photos of the underbelly of New York City in the 30's 40's & 50's. His photos were vivid, real and harsh and he coined the famous term the naked city which was the title of his first book of photographs. He documented the murders, crimes, and lurid dramas all around him for the newspapers of the day. Brilliant work. Published in conj. with a large exhibition of his work, the book is nicely printed and includes essays. No one took photos like Weegee.

The Furnace of the City July 1st Do You and your family Want to Live Over this Furnace Or where the sea Breeze Blows, Bossert, Louis & Sons
20 Bossert, Louis & Sons The Furnace of the City July 1st Do You and your family Want to Live Over this Furnace Or where the sea Breeze Blows
Brooklyn Louis Bossert & Sons Inc 1925 Mailing Folder No. 3 Paper
Rare promotional mailing folder to promote the sale of Bossert Bungalows which were ready to erect summer homes. The folder is wonderfully illustrated in full color with nice Art Deco like artwork and is tipped in on light gray stock paper and is an unsent sample used to promote the sale of these ready to erect small houses. The brochure opens up from a hot New York summer scene to show a young child wadding in an Art Deco ocean with information about buying one of these ready to erect summer homes on each side. The brochure itself is fine, there is some small chipping to the bottom of the gray mounting. Although undated I would place it from the 1920's.
