 2. Greene, Graham  The Third Man & The Fallen Idol. ( Le Troisieme Homme Suivi Par Premiere Desillusion)
Paris Rober Laffont 1st French Paper Edition Paper with Dustjacket
TEXT IN FRENCH. Two works by Greene. The Third Man was based on an unpublished story & The Fallen Idol was based on his published short story "The Basement Room." Both films were directed by Carol Reed and both had screenplays by Greene. The Third Man is considered one of the great & seminal films of the early post war years. Welles's touch is felt throughout the film and is sometimes even credited to him, although Welles always said that Reed was in total control of the film. Welles is credited with writing the famous "Cukoo Clock" speech. The book's pages are uncut and There are eight superb grauve stills from The Third Man & 4 stills from The Fallen Idol. The book is also dramatically illustrated with strong green and red graphics on the front and back covers with illustrations from both films. Tiny missing piece to the top edge of the Welles cover otherwise a terrific Greene, Welles, Reed piece. Near fine.
Price: 150.00 USD
